This is hands down the best place for Greek food on the east side of Seattle. Fresh food, huge portions, very reasonable prices, fast, friendly service, plenty of parking. Need I say more to convince you to try this place? Finding the place maybe bit of a challenge. It is in the same strip mall as value village and FedEx, just hidden in a far corner. This isn’t a sit-down restaurant, they do have a few tables, chairs and bar stools. There is a malt and vine store next door which welcomes people to bring their own food. So if you are in the mood for beer or wine, just grab a sandwich or kebab plate from gyros 2 go and head over to malt and vine for better seating and drinks.
We have been going to gyros 2 go for several years now. They have everything from kebabs to sandwiches to baklava. Yumjay always gets a meat combo plate which comes with a salad, rice, meat and generous amount of tzatziki sauce and pita bread. Tzatziki is a yogurt-cucumber-dill dip, a close cousin of raita (Indian yogurt dip) but a lot creamier and thicker. I have had the falafel plate in the past, it comes with everything in the meat combo plate and the meat is replaced with falafel. That is way too much food for me. So now when I am at gyros 2 go I just order a falafel sandwich, which by the way is super yummy and filling.
The falafels are crispy, crunchy, cooked fresh and slathered with tzatziki and wrapped inside a warm pita with onions, tomatoes and lettuce to make a perfect sandwich. So if you are in Redmond and find yourself hungry, please go to this place. Nothing can beat their fast, friendly service and tasty food at good prices.
